I saw a bumper sticker that read:
“I MISS SOUTH AFRICA”
So I broke a window, stole the radio, and left a note that said…
“I HOPE THIS HELPS”
07:47 Tuesday – this morning….phone rings, and I am startled out of my sleep.
Its my boss, that sinking feeling grabs me and twists my stomach. I have overslept!
“Oh shoot, I am so sorry, I put my alarm off, I’m awake, I’ll be there in 10.” I managed to whine in that early morning croak.
Bearing in mind I normally wake up at 06:30 and live about 10 minutes away from work.
Like a tornado I blew through my new flat. I practically threw my make-up on my eyes, jumped into my pre- planned outfit, set out the night before.
Its not that I knew I was going to be late I just hate looking for an outfit in the mornings, which is my worst time of the day.
I fled from my flat like I had the police after me, and coined the cheezy phrase “drive it like you stole it” on Umhlanga Rocks drive.
And, I am proud to announce, that I arrived at work at 08:20, 50 minutes late, not bad for waking up 1 hour 17 minutes late.
Its nice to know that I can move it and be ready quickly, but its not ideal. I think I have checked myself about 3 times, seeing if I have missed something or am wearing something inside out
However, I must say that I feel rested, refreshed, replenished, and ready for this day and the rest of this week!
Thank you Lord for today.
